School Closure Blog Post #28

Creative Schools Surveys

In September 2019, our school was selected to participate in the 'Creative Schools' initiative.

The initiative was developed to help children and young people explore and develop their creative sides, and to link them with the arts in their local community and nationally.

Artist Caroline Conway is our Creative Associate. Her task is to get the views of the whole school community and come up with a plan. She visited our school on February 13th and then again on March 5th and got initial input from the pupils

She has now been in touch and has created two online surveys -a separate one for parents and children- to gather ideas.

We would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to complete the surveys please.
We have until December 2020 to spend our €2,000 funding.

Free online Stress Control Classes

HSE Health and Wellbeing are offering a free Stress Control programme online.

The programme helps participants recognise the signs of stress. It covers topics including how stress affects our bodies and our thoughts. It teaches skills to overcome panicky feelings and tips to getting a good night's sleep.

Each session is 90 minutes. Participants are encouraged to watch all sessions, but you can join at any stage for one or more sessions.

The first session is available to watch online here. The next sessions will all be uploaded over the coming days. You can find them all on this YouTube channel.
