Eleathanach is a free, weekly reading resource as Gaeilge that is published for 5th and 6th classes and is based on current topics of interest.

During challenging times, it’s more important than ever to look after your child’s well-being. 
A FREE Mental Well-being Journal for Children can be accessed here.  It’s probably most suitable for children aged 8 to 12 years old but can certainly be adapted for younger or older children.

Dear Parents, hope you are all safe and well as we head into another week of homeschooling. This arrangement is in place until May 5th and we expect another announcement around that time so when we post our next list of work, we may have a better idea of how long this will last.





You can find the new work for all classes here. All teachers stress that this work is there to help you keep an element of routine in your days but please do not feel under pressure to complete it.

Active School Week 






This week would usually be Active School Week but this year because of Covid-19 it is not possible for this to go ahead so we are asking you to participate  in the Active HOME Week  challenge instead.  
You can draw out the Challenge charts in your copy and fill in the slots as you complete each activity.

Teachers have given suggestions but here are two links we posted previously which will help you get in your 60 minutes of physical activity every day

The Body Coach - Joe Wicks has a live workout on his YouTube channel every weekday at 9 am. 

GoNoodle - this website has a range of movement video routines to keep children active every day.

This website provides information to parents on activities they can do at home with children to develop fine motor skills, handwriting, scissor skills etc. The activities are interesting and beneficial for all children.

This free to use site has short children's bed time stories, updated weekly, as well as nursery rhymes, poems etc.




Ways to practice your reading




You could draw this in your copy and color in each square as you complete the task - one at a time!!. Remember the best way to improve your reading is to read, read, read....

First Communion and Confirmation

A number of parents of second and sixth class pupils have been in touch wondering about the this year's Sacraments.
We know that there will be no gatherings until at least May 5th and we expect another Government announcement at that stage.
Bishop Denis has said that as soon as restrictions are lifted, the diocese will immediately resume planning for these celebrations so we'll have to wait.

Dear parents,
We're delighted that so many of you have signed up to Seesaw. Please email your child's class teacher if you haven't yet received your code. This distance learning is new to all of us so please bear with us as we find our feet. We are all learning together.


Music



We use this music programme in school and there is now free access to the parents' content. 
These activities have been selected and adapted to be accessible and fun for children and parents in a home setting.


Science


You can find live workshops on the Midlands Science facebook page every Thursday at 11am. All previous ones are HERE to see.

On the Midlands Science YouTube channel there’s a weekly show Science at Home.
